Last week, we talked about CÊLÁ believing in the circular fashion movement. But what is circular fashion?
A circular fashion industry refers to a stage where waste and pollution are designed out and products and materials are kept in use for as long as possible. This includes reusing, recycling and avoiding throwing away. It can be easier when production is done with mono materials instead of multiple, but even the latter can be recyclable pending the easiness to disassemble products: “It can be defined as clothes, shoes or accessories that are designed, sourced, produced and provided with the intention to be used and circulated responsibly and effectively in society for as long as possible in their most valuable form, and hereafter, return safely to the biosphere when no longer of human use” as said by Dr. Anna Brismar.

At CÊLÁ, we believe that changes can happen and together we can make a difference. That’s why our bet is in slow fashion, a just, safe and transparent industry and our mission is to revolutionize fashion. This all started as a final degree project that went on to win several different prizes in entrepreneurship - Sangue Novo by Moda Lisboa, StartUp Voucher by IAPMEI and several partnerships that came with it - with Riopele and the Feeting Room.
CÊLÁ wants to stand out from other small fashion brands by its unique selling point: a distinctive design that wants to get away from the basics we are so used to. Exclusive collections that are produced in small quantities, made from deadstock and other consciously chosen fabrics and materials. We hope you help us keep on our toes as we will for you and this industry we are in.
